Friends - and yes, I mean everyone here.
I just was recently fortunate to received the comic, The Long Flight Home for Christmas from my cousin Staticbear76.
So, I wanted to clear up a few things in a small review.
The comic starts off at Rebecca's apartment as Baloo and Becky are going off for the weekend on a business trip. Kit is saddened because he wanted to go too, but was left to watch Molly. Which he likes but his old memories of his past started haunting him.
Molly goes on to talk to Kit about what's wrong and said that she feels Kit as her brother, even suggesting that they pretended to be brother and sister to play a game Molly called sibling rivalry. (lol Molly.)
Kit, however, is feeling down and missing being more free that brings up the comic's setting. I felt that this was after P&L somewhere and before Stormy Weather.
There comes a knock at the door and Molly goes to answer it, as Kit was still feeling down, but he reminded himself that it was his job to watch Molly.
Kit looked out the door's peephole to see a face from his past Mr Weatherspoon, a man in charge of jailing Hobos and putting orphan kids and runaways into the orphanage.
Kit freaks out right there and he made a mad dash with Molly to escape, fearing Weaterspoon was after Him.
They head to Higher for Hire, where Kit makes Molly breakfast, yes Kit can cook But Molly wanted a doughnut. as Kit made her oatmeal.
Later as Kit is going to tell Wildcat that he and Molly were there.
*Gasp!* Mr Weatherspoon was talking with Wildcat!
Kit freaked out yet again and exclaimed: "He followed me here! No, I can't let him take me away to the orphanage!" Kit decided that the only thing left to do was to run away again.
Kit has a flashback of when he was six years old, almost being caught, running from Weathersooon. Here, we see a picture of six-year-old Kit in rags, a torn blue short-sleeves shirt. He put up struggle so to not to be taken to the orphanage.
So Kit packed a few things in a chest and ask Molly for rope and he then used them to lower the chest out the window.
Kit goes to the air port and hoped a friendly flight from his days on with the air hobos, knowing the symbol for safe passage.
Kit cries, tears running down his face as they flew over Higher for Hire, saying: "G'bye Papa bear Sniff."
Kit kept thinking to himself that he was better off alone.
But Molly had stowed away and when Kit opened the chest--surprise, surprise-- he found her inside.
They talked for a bit and the pilot goes back to check the noise. Molly was telling Kit not to go but he feels he has to.
Molly said to the pilot. "don't you hurt my brother."
Kit: "I'm not your brother Molly and your going Home."
Molly: "Yes you are my brother, Kit."
We go on a bit further and Kit met up with Grammy and Gummer again, the air hobos that took care of Kit when he younger.
Well they talked about Kit being gone and ask why'd he come back when he has it so well now.
Kit again says "I feel better alone."
Well Molly is breaking into tears.
How Kit met the pirates comes into play here..
They hopped on board a flight that was to take them to Kane island where they could get a ride home. In this time they get caught and were forced to become part of the island's camp--more like a slave camp
The original owner was kidnapped and taken away.
But as the night goes on. Kit explains that he have to get Molly home, he'll be fine and he explains how he got one of his special model air planes. He and Baloo had been on a cargo run and there was a Carnival and Kit wanted to win it by doing a ring toss but Baloo insisted that he'd win it for him. Well Baloo played and never won but he paid enough that he bought the plane and the guy at the both gave it to them.
Kit insisted that Molly is to go home alone, but... Like mother, like daughter, Molly is just as stubborn as Rebecca.
"Kit I won't go unless you go. I don't want you to go away." Molly cries.
Then we go to the next day and Molly later that next day wanders off from camp with a dog and they find the island's real owner and freed him.
They set up a plan and save the Air Hobos and give the usland back to the real owner.
They asked Kit to stay and be a new forman of the Suger Kane operation there Kit says No I got to go Home. He relized He need Baloo Molly and Becky and Wildcat.
Kit still worries about facing Mr Weatherspoon, but he can't leave his family.
Well come to find out, it was a misunderstanding, Kit just jumped to conclusions over it.
Weatherspoon wasn't after Kit at all, but hiring the Sea Duck for a flight for a vacation for him and his wife.
Well to say Kit felt sorry for that was evident
But Molly draws a symbol of safe Passage on the Sea Duck and said "Welcome home, big brother." Closing out the comic.
Guys, I recommend anyone who's a fan of Kit to read this comic and see it's meaning.
In closing, I'd give Long Flight Home a gold award and 100 stars out of 10. This was the lost episode we all need to see.
This is a must read. ;D
The story, the meaning, the heartfelt parts between Kit and Molly, Kit past being revealed some, this is the ultimate lost episode.
Sincerely
Your friend
