;D JOKE ALERT...JOKE ALERT...JOKE ALERT ;D I think it's wonderful when you can get an official piece of TaleSpin memorabilia, especially when it's of your favorite character. As for me, I could never secure an official Kit Cloudkicker, although, I do have a couple of alternatives; both of which I purchased at a thrift store. One bear is a souvenir of Yellowstone Park; he even has his own green sweater! Another bear I have is wearing an actual toddler-sized green shirt; they're so sweet... KIT: [gaff] Huh? KIT: [giggle] Hiya, Kit! KIT: [gaff] Hiya, Tommee! [canned laughter] What's funny, pal? KIT: [giggle] You! [giggle] Me, huh? What's funny about me? KIT: Tommy...plays with his teddy bears! [canned laughter and sound of game show buzzer] I don't know many people Tommy's age who play with their teddy bears! You must not know that many people, Kit. Many people my age think bears are very cool. They even collect bears as a hobby. There's nothing wrong with that. KIT: Ha-ha-haaaaa! He has a widdle teddy bear! Tommy has a teddy bear with a widdle green shirt; a widdle gween sweater...hey! Wait a minute! Green sweater?? Awww, Kit, I thought you'd know by now! BALOO: Heh...I knew it all the time! KIT: Papa Bear, you knew that Tommy plays with his teddy bears? BALOO: Well, Kit, I think Tom has two particular bears in mind. As a matter of fact, I do, Baloo. I think Yogi is smarter than the average bear... BALOO & KIT: [in unison] TOM!!! Rut-roh...gotta go; Thank you very much! Good Night!![canned laughter and applause] ;D I like that there, Tom! ;D

I heard about this. I am surprised that they are waiting til 2012 to do it though. Nickelodeon has pretty much done the same, it only makes since to see them launch a similar channel like Nick Jr. (Formally Noggin)
I most likely won't receive it, since Soapnet isn't on basic cable here.
Not saying they can't, but I'm not so sure that they would air things like TaleSpin ect, seeing as how it's mostly going to be a Playhouse Disney themed channel, though with the show casings of Disney animation such as The Little Mermaid, who really knows what could pop-up... I know that Playhouse Disney in the UK aired Gummi Bears.

Great topic. That's a nice Pinocchio statuette there, but for that pretty of a penny I wouldn't take interest in buying it, but it's nice to view.
And, Duke, you can talk about pretty much anything you'd like here, even if not Disney related, just post it on the General Board.

yeah I think Brother Bear is probably the best Disney film of the last decade. As far as Pixar goes, my favourites are Toy Story, Ratatouille and The Incredibles. I loved Toy Story and Ratatouille. The upcoming Toy Story 3 looks like it might be pretty good too, boy Disney see it's popularity to keep it going like this. I never did see The Incredibles.

Mine since I was a young child have always been Robin Hood, Fox and the Hound (my love of foxes go out to these two as well), Junglebook (such a great classic story, and helped bring about TaleSpin in a way too, with it's references, Pinocchio was really good too, I like how they did that one. Like you I've always loved the lion king since I first saw it in 1994, great characters and story plot. I also like the Rescuers with the mice, but I didn't watch that one as much. The first three I watched quite often as kid, as those were my top favorites. Fun and Fancy Free. Bambi. Aladdin. The Lion King Brother bear. Meet the Robinson's. Cars. Heh well The list goes on and on. way to many for me to list. These are good picks, though I am not sure I would call the last three 'Classics', although I'd say I consider Brother Bear an instant classic in itself, as it was that good in my eyes, but not a true classic yet. Don't worry, I'm not picking on you.

You are both right. Making an online petition with do nothing, but sit on a website. Sure lots of fans may come and sign it, but nothing more will happen with it. Basically all an online petition will do is make some fans feel better signing it. This is why I never said much on this thread in the first place. I do think we have a much better chance on sending our snail mail letters in, something all fans should do, as Tom expressed. I do remember a petition online that one young boy made, on a personal website for the cartoon Loonatics Unleashed, as he and many others save the Looney Tunes from the way the new artwork made them look, or something along those lines. however I can't find it any more, but it did make a small difference that I recall. Edit: the site is now long gone, which is why I can't find it, but here's info on it www.hecklerspray.com/eleven-year-old-boy-saves-bug-bunny-from-certain-death/2005336.phploonatics unleashed was canceled because it was a bomb which resulted in a lot of lost money. You see, that's just the thing. You can't just write a letter and say "Duuhhhh put Talespin back on the air because we miss Talespin" Where's the financial gain? I'm sorry guys but you have to realize, most people who watched Talespin are adults now and have lost interest in cartoons a long time ago. It may seem like there are a lot of fans when you spend time on retro themed websites. But in the grand scheme of things putting talespin back on the air would be a monetary loss and take time slots from preexisting shows that still have people working on them and willing to pay the money it takes to have their shows on that network. the dvds were released to see if there was any interest left in the show. the poor sales showed network heads thaty there aren't enough fans to warrant spending the money it takes to air a tv show. Think about it. The dvd sales were so poor that they didn't even bother to finish releasing the series. It really shouldn't be hard to figure out. I do have to tend to agree with you. If I did write to Disney at all on this, I'd ask that they finish the DVDs that they started, for the fan's sake. I wouldn't ask them to put it back on the air. Though putting back on the air would be nice, I don't see it happening, and if it did, it would be at a bad timeslot, more than likely. Networks do air a lot of old rerun shows, but mostly for time fillers or late at night when most are in bed. I feel they should at least finish the Disney Afternoon DVDs they started, it's only fair to the fans, but the company is focused on making money, and for the most part the want to focus on stuff that will make a big enough profit. They do care about their fans though, if they didn't they would have never bothered releasing any of the DA boxsets that they did.
