Has anyone else read the Dark Tower books? If so, am I the only one who thinks there's a strong resemblance between Kit and Jake? They're both about the same age; both were forced to grow up too soon; both were mostly without good adult influences (Jake's parents weren't exactly attentive to his needs, Kit was an orphan and I don't think Karnage was exactly the best influence on a boy), ran away and found an adult who treated them as equals and not just as a child; this adult ended up becoming a father figure after a rocky beginning; both have risked their lives for a greater cause (saving Cape Suzette, saving the Tower); both can act like an adult in a kid's body a lot, but there are times when the child within shows through, etc. There's probably more that I can't think of at the moment. Anyone else notice this, or am I crazy?
(And I'm probably the only one here who's read DT and everyone else is just going "Huh? What is he talking about???" So for the rest of you - what other characters in books or TV shows/movies would you say bear a strong resemblance to Kit? Or any other TaleSpin character for that matter?)

in the movie stardust robert deniro's skypirate character is a lot like don karnage he is dashing and always try to look mean when he really is a great guy who likes to wear dresses

Right now, I'm watching Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, which I highly recommend. As I'm watching the movie, I can see Baloo as Indiana Jones. Rebecca playing the role of Willie, the nightclub singer...and Kit portraying Short Round.
Kit and Short Round probably have the most in common. Both characters are orphans, they take onto their respective partners as father figures...and they both like to wear baseball caps.
Somewhere, I saw a fan drawing of Baloo and the TaleSpin cast portraying characters from the Indiana Jones movies. I just wish I could remember where at the moment. It was great art!

Well, I think Kit bears some resemblance to Bran Stark in A Song of Ice and Fire (if you've read it). They're actually not that similar, but Bran's determination and childlike behavior (even though he's mature for his age) looks a lot like Kit. They're both adventurous and don't like to be bound by rules. They're both kind souls with a harsh past and despite everything they don't give up. It's more the personalities that are similar than the actual circumstances, though.
I haven't read The Dark Tower, but I've heard good things about it so if I can find the time I just might give it a shot. Unfortunately there's so much else I still want to read.

one more thing ash ketchum in a way is like kit always striving to be the best like when he tried to be a pilot for thembrya ash took on many challenges even team rocket even giovanni himself kit took on don karnage and outsmarted him ash made many friends misty brock prof oak and many others kit has molly baloo ms cunningham wildcat and many people who loves him, and ash with his pikachu same with kits airfoil a trusty friend well baloo is even trustier but cant fit baloo on kits shoulder.
