I've noticed that this is a favorite topic of fanfiction writers. I had ideas for TaleSpin fanfiction but have yet to get enough of it brainstormed but I keep coming back to Kit's past. Wanted to know what you all thought his past was like.
For myself, I have a mix of ideas, the first one being that I think he was born out of wedlock. Why? I dunno...maybe because, given the time period of the 1930s, it gives a little more of a 'taboo' feeling to him.
Kit is street smart, you can tell that when you first meet him and you can tell he's seen his share of things and he isn't about to take any crap from anyone. He's immediately on the offensive which tells me that he's been stabbed in the back a lot, probably by his biological parents as well as other friends he met.
I think his biological father probably either left or did something cruel to his mom. One idea I had was that his biological fatehr was abusive, simply because of how Kit reacts differently when meeting Baloo and Rebecca. With Baloo he is very reserved at first, on the defensive and pretty snappy and untrusting. When he first meets Rebecca he is polite and almost a little shy. Almost a night-day difference.
As for what he went through..
Has Kit stolen anything? Heck yeah, probably lots of things.
Has Kit used anybody? Not intentionally but it might have come off that way to some people
Can Kit fight? Oh yeah. I think living with Baloo and rebecca and them has made him a bit rusty, as he feels safe now and not so on edge but he definitely could hold his own.
Has Kit ever taken a life? That one is hard for me to decide but I say probably. Most likely when with the Air Pirates and I can't see him doing it in cold blood. Most likely in self defense.
How did Kit meet the Air Pirates? Well, I always had the idea that he probably ran into them when they were raiding somewhere and rather than giving up to them, he fought back and probably won Karnage's interest that way..
Heh, sorry, I think the psychology student in me is coming to life. I tend to like to dissect characters and that so far is what I have for Kit. I'd like to hear everyone else's opinions. I have an idea for a story idea but have a lot more brainstorming on it to do. Will keep you all updated though.
