I heard about this. I am surprised that they are waiting til 2012 to do it though. Nickelodeon has pretty much done the same, it only makes since to see them launch a similar channel like Nick Jr. (Formally Noggin)
I most likely won't receive it, since Soapnet isn't on basic cable here.
Not saying they can't, but I'm not so sure that they would air things like TaleSpin ect, seeing as how it's mostly going to be a Playhouse Disney themed channel, though with the show casings of Disney animation such as The Little Mermaid, who really knows what could pop-up... I know that Playhouse Disney in the UK aired Gummi Bears.

here in the uk the playhouse disney channel (which started in 2001) aired gummi bears, talespin, chip n dale and ducktales around 2005/2006, all of which moved to Disney Cinemagic Channel when that was launched.
I always though the US got a Playhouse Disney network before we did.

I have pretty much every Disney Channel owned here in the U.S. on my cable provider so I'm optimistic about the changes.
Most normal Playhouse Disney stuff has been on Disney Channel in the U.S. for as long as I remember so to give it a new channel of its own is pretty neat.
I mean we may not know if they will show older show's Like Talespin Which I'm optimistic they might or even show stuff on Disney Channel with Playhouse Disney moving and all.
I agree with Fievel Uzumaki It's possible. and I remain optimistic.

Disney should have two retro channels one for classic Disney shows like DuckTales and TaleSpin ECT and another that airs classic Disney Movies on Demand 24/7 just a thought or here's a idea have Disney show the oringal TaleSpin Plunder and Lighting the full movie as say either the friday night movie of the week or the sunday movie of the week just my thoughts

In all honesty, I would rather like them not airing it at all rather than bogging it down to "2 to 7 years old"...and giviing a bad image of it. Jymn Magon said that Talespin was made for a much larger audience originally : 5 to 15, and I think they kept older audience in mind when making it.
Disney should really stick with only ONE channel...That marketing/social/boys/girls share is nonsense.
Anyway, if they really would air Talespin, Disney Channel would suit much better. Or even Disney XD. But Playhouse...come on.
