WRONG!
Now, I'm sure there are some at Disney Studios who think cutting this phrase from "Mach One For The Gipper" is appropriate, and totally PC right?
HA!
I asked professor of linguistics, Dr. Richard Lederer about this phrase, Honest Injun. Here's the reply he gave me (Exact quote in italics below):
19th century US slang. Originally sarcastic meaning "Honest as an Indian," but "Honest Injun" gradually became a sincere pledge, like "honor bright" and "on my honor."
So, while it was a form of sarcasm it now means something positive and, as the professor writes, sincere.
I have half a mind (DON'T say it) to write Disney and point this little fact out to their PC controllers.

This is the same Disney studios that cannot keep their gun edits straight and has allowed smoking in the Ducktales DVD after proclaiming on their high horses that they wouldn't allow smoking in their products. Disney's editing practices on this show and others demonstrate how futile it is for them to edit in the first place when the damage is already done.

I'm Native, And I have no problem with the term "Honest Injun" In fact I've used the phrase as a joke with my friends countless times. I'd say something, They say "Are you serious" Then I'd cross my heart, hold up two fingers and say "honest injun" then we'd laugh.
But I don't care about political correctness anyway.
But if I did care I could tell you were the problem lays and in the year 2010 I still can't believe people can't see it.
It's the word "Injun" and no it's not because of how it's said. It's because our ancestors did not come from India therefore we are not Indian.
Call somebody from Texas a Yankee and he'll flip out on ya. But it's ok to name us after a country that's on the other side of the world?
But once again. I really don't care about being PC. I probably say and do stuff that offends people everyday just by being myself, Who am I to ask somebody else to stop what they are doing, or change the way they think? Sure, I'll voice my opinions on certain topics. But it doesn't change my life in anyway if other people don't share the same opinions.

I know I'm late on this topic myself but I agree the word never offended me either and I'm part Cherokee myself not a lot but I am some.
So really the line never bothered me I just think this was in my eyes a cut that Eisner had made cause he felt it was wrong but It's really not. and if we ever Get DVD set 3 I'm sure the line will be intact.
again sorry for my late reply to this, and again I don't find the word offensive.
Just another edit that was kinda silly to even do.
Sincerely
~Kit Lee CMB Assistant Mod.
