I'm not trying to defend them, just re-establish the truth in that. If Eisney didn't like Talespin, he wouldn't have green-lighted it in the first place, don't you think? Neither would he have green-lighted Chip & Dale, Ducktales and so on. He may have changed opinion many years after, but at the time of the Disney Afternoon, I really don't think he "disliked the classic characters".
And, Bob Iger has nothing much to do with the new comics : as previously stated, the guys at Toon Studios are behind this idea, not him. At best, he didn't refuse to give them the rights (which, considering the money it should bring to Disney, was an easy decision...) And I'm not even sure that the DVDs were released directly because of Bob Iger either. (at least, I have never seen any reliable source stating that) But yes, he did some good things indirectly, ie buying Pixar and putting Lasseter in charge. (which led to the release of the traditional Princess & The Frog)

Pashka => That's exactly what I was going to say.
You can't blame Eisner because without him, there wouldn't be Talespin, because he pushed to get The Disney Afternoon and especially the Gummi Bears (without that series, none would probably have been produced, or they would have been very different)
Also, these comics are NOT from Disney, the people behind this idea is the Boom Studios people who got the idea and pushed Disney to get the rights to do it. It's not the same thing as if Disney themselves would have decided it.
Although, if they are enough successful, Disney might be interested in using them again...

I'm keeping my fingers crossed so that they can make some Talespin ones too. (especially considering this IS a realistic thought, for once - making a comic doesn't requires a high budget, unlike new episodes or movies)
I hope that everyone here is considering to buy them, because this will only happen if enough people are interested in buying comics from these old franchises. (I'm including Ducktales too)

Thank you Actually that's the first partnership I have ever done (even if my first site is 6 years old), so I hope everything goes well and will help bringing more people to know or remember Talespin.

Petitions do sometimes work. After all, I myself had an official answer from Glenn Ross, the head of the animation production at Universal, which answered to us : www.animationsource.org/board/breaking-message-from-glenn-ross-himself-t4174.htmlOf course this wasn't a positive answer, but at least they DID read our petition and take the time to answer it properly. "We really like the Balto character and are pleased to know that there are people like you out there that are such big fans." See what I mean? And even if petitions rarely work, is it still a reason to "forget it" and don't try anything? How could Disney bring back a franchise like that, if no one let them know there are still people interested in it, almost 20 years later? Well, that's the key point of course. That's what companies are interested in, no matter what. But then, tell me : why did they make The Princess & The Frog, "where's the financial gain" when they could just have made another stupid CGI film which always make high grosses? Why bother returning to traditional animation? And yet, they did. (with average result on the box office, I admit) And if you want them to make something better than HORRIBLE shows like this...Why not just, for once, do something like making a new Ducktales series (which is a bit more popular than Talespin), with only a few episodes, just to try and see if viewers catch on? I don't think they would take much risk. How can they know people wouldn't if they don't TRY?

It's strange that most people are aware of this, while I couldn't find a single information or picture about it on any Talespin sites.
But maybe this explains that, then.

I don't know if I posted a topic about the comics yet, but I have many Talespin comics on my site now : www.animationsource.org/talespin/en/custom_list/&id_film=9&nump=1201Including one comic that was released only in France and that I've translated (I have another one I still need to translate, and I will try to get the others that were released)

Err, don't dream too much. Making 3D video games is very complex and requires a lot of money and people, and I'm not even talking about releasing something on consoles. (with royalties etc...) A "simple" 2D game on computer would be realistic though, with tools like Game Maker for example : www.yoyogames.com/makeOr RPG maker (but that can only make RPG games) BTW, I made a page on the 3 official Talespin games that were released : www.animationsource.org/talespin/en/custom/&id_film=9&nump=1340

Of course, I would support any petition made for Talespin. I had imagined for myself what would be the best things Disney should do to "relaunch" Talespin. You've listed most of the things, but I would also include a "direct-to-video" film released on DVD...(why not? they used to make lots of Disney sequels - it would work much better with their TV series as the animation quality could only be better than the series quality itself) Or new episodes, but this has even less probability to happen. After all, the DTV films for Futurama was what relaunched the series...Even though they don't have the same popularity, I believe it could work. Of course, the chances of that happening anytime soon are next to none... In any case, I'll sign whatever petition that gets online. You can find lots of petition-making sites online. For example, I created a petition for Balto : www.thepetitionsite.com/1/balto-special-edition-dvdYou can also check sites like petitiononline.com, which is more famous... But before writing a petition, take the time to gather all the things you're requesting, and check for mistakes - because usually, once the petition is posted, there is no way to correct it.

No, I didn't draw my avatar myself; one of the visitors of my sites did it (Pample, who is a bit popular on Deviantart now) Though I wish I could draw like this...

Hey there! I hope this is the right place to post this image. It's my character Sean Khan, son of Shere Khan. I'll be writing a fan-fiction about his introduction to the Tale Spin world soon to post here, too. A little about Sean; He's 12, goes to a private academy for schooling but comes to Cape Suzzette to join his father for ceremonies and other Khan Industries related functions. He has a secret passion for adventure to help him escape his growing responsibilities, but tries to hide it from his father. He's bright and positive, with a dry sense of humor. Sean is also resourceful and will use his brain to come up with any solution to a problem. Wow, that's a very good drawing. I suggest you to post it as a "fan character" there : www.animationsource.org/talespin/en/chars/And you could send it as a fanart too
